The Edgar Brood Academic Chair
Introducing
The Edgar Brood Academic Chair (EBAC)
The Edgar Brood Academic Chair (EBAC) is a non-profit organisation based in the Netherlands and Belgium, founded by the Brood-Grapperhaus family and friends, in commemoration of the late Dr Edgar Brood. Until his sudden departure in Indonesia, Dr Edgar Brood was one of Europe’s top tax lawyers. His family and friends established and named an Academic Chair for English and IT after him that is now key to the social and economic development in Tasikmalaya, South West Java.
EBAC has been in collaboration with Universitas Siliwangi, particularly with the Language Centre (UPA) and English Education Department, since 2004. Our work focuses
on developing English language skills, business skills, and information technology for students, faculty members, staff, and board members of UNSIL and the people of
Tasikmalaya.
