Wijdja Lukito, MD., PhD.
Dr. Widjaja Lukito is a visiting lecturer at the Postgraduate Program in Physician Nutrition Specialist, hosted by the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. He is also the Investigator Member at the Human Nutrition Research Center, Indonesian Medical Education and Research Institute (IMERI), Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. Dr. Lukito started his academic career at SEAMEO Regional Centre for Food and Nutrition under the auspices of the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization, Universitas Indonesia, and has been assigned various positions from 1995 until 2015.

He was the Director of the Center from 2004 to 2008. He has been appointed as Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia from 1999 – 2003. Dr. Lukito has been appointed Senior Officer in the Government of Indonesia from 2006-2014.

He is currently a Scientific Advisor to the ILSI SEA Region Indonesia Country Committee. He is also a Board Member of the PA-International Foundation. He deliberated updating nutritional surveillance and intervention for malnourished under-five children in Tasikmalaya (2018 – 2020), involving local universities. His research interests include nutrition, life-cycle nutrition, aging, non-communicable diseases, and their linkages with metabolism. He is a member of the Academy of Food and Nutrition Sciences/Indonesian Academy of Sciences (2020 – now), and has been appointed by the Minister of Health as a Faculty Member of the (Indonesian) College of Clinical Nutrition for the period of year 2024 – 2028. He is the past president of the Indonesia Clinical Nutrition Society and the Asia Pacific Clinical Nutrition Society.

Dr. Lukito received his medical degree in 1986 from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga in Surabaya, Indonesia, and his Ph.D. in Medicine in 1995 at the Faculty of Medicine, Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. At the same time, he joined professional training in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism Division, Monash Medical Center in 1991-1995, and was certified by the Australasian Postgraduate Federation in Medicine in Victoria, Australia.
